Help & Definitions

Everything you need to use ZuriSellIQ effectively — how each tool works, what every metric means, and how to get the best results.

Brand Field vs Keywords Field

ZuriSellIQ uses two search fields to give you the best results.

Brand Field
Enter the brand name here. It will be automatically wrapped in quotes for exact matching. Example: type North Face and the app searches "North Face" — ensuring every result is actually that brand.
Keywords Field
Enter product type, model, size, or other descriptors. All words must appear in the listing title but order does not matter. Example: Quilted Jacket XL
✅ Best practice: Put Barbour in Brand, Quilted Jacket XL in Keywords. The app searches "Barbour" Quilted Jacket XL
⚠️ Do not use quotes in the Keywords field unless you want exact phrase matching. Too many quoted phrases reduces results and can mislead the data.

Search Quality Grades

Every search receives a quality grade based on how specific your query is. A weak search gives you broad market data. A strong search gives you precise comps for the exact item in your hand.

🟢 STRONG
Brand + model/material detected. High confidence. Example: "Barbour" Liddesdale Quilted Waxed XL
🟡 MODERATE
Good keyword count but missing model or material. Decent data but worth refining.
🔴 WEAK
Brand + category only. Missing model, material, or technical features. Results may include items that are not comparable to what you're holding.

🔍 Research Mode

Research Mode gives you a full market intelligence report for any search. Use it when you want to understand a market deeply before sourcing or pricing.

KPI Cards

The top row shows key market metrics at a glance: Median Price, Sell-Through Rate, Active Listings, and Unique Sellers.

Competition Bucket

Tells you how crowded this market is based on total active listings.

Listing Age Breakdown

A stacked bar showing what percentage of listings are fresh (under 30 days) vs aging. A fast market has most listings under 30 days. A slow market has many listings sitting 90+ days.

Specific Value Drivers

Auto-detected from listing titles. Shows which models, materials, colors, and features command higher prices. Click any card to research that specific version.

Keyword Lift Chips

Shows which words appear in higher-priced listings with a % price lift. Click any chip to add it to your search. Only add keywords that you can verify on the actual item tag.

⚠️ Do not add keywords to a listing that are not on the actual item. This is title stuffing and can result in returns and account penalties.

Buy Decision Calculator

Enter your buy price to get an instant BUY / VERIFY / CAUTION / PASS verdict based on your saved settings. All criteria — commission, promoted %, profit minimum, multiplier, velocity — can be edited inline and saved as your default.

⚡ Quick Buy Mode

Designed for sourcing floors, estate sales, and bin sourcing. Paste multiple items at once, hit Analyze All, and get instant decisions on your whole haul.

How to Use

Type one item per line in the text box. Use "North Face" quotes for multi-word brand names. Hit Analyze All — the app researches each item and returns: Sell Price, Max Buy Price, Competition, Velocity, and a Decision.

CSV Import

Import a spreadsheet with columns: Item, Buy Price, Condition, Notes. The app reads the first column as the search term and displays the rest as context.

Buy Criteria Panel

All buy settings are visible at the top of Quick Buy Mode — Commission %, Promoted %, Min Profit, Multiplier, Min Listings, Velocity, Shipping. Edit directly and hit Save to persist.

💰 True Profit Engine

The most accurate profit calculator for resellers. Calculates your real margin after every cost including supplies, labor, and risk reserves.

Key Concepts

Cash Net Profit
Money left after all costs except your own labor time. This is the actual cash remaining: Sell Price − COGS − Fees − Shipping − Supplies − Return Reserve − Damage Reserve.
Owner Hourly Rate
Cash Net Profit divided by total processing time in hours. This is what your time is worth on this item. If you made $24 and spent 12 minutes, your owner rate is $120/hr.
Economic Profit After Labor
Cash profit minus what your time is worth at your target hourly rate. If your rate is $50/hr and you spent 22 minutes, your labor reserve is $18.33. Economic profit = $24 − $18.33 = $5.67.

Package Presets

Select your package type (Poly Mailer, Small Box, etc.) and supply costs auto-fill. You can override any value.

Sourcing Time

Toggle on to include acquisition time in your True Hourly Rate. Keep it off for in-store quick decisions. Turn it on for true business accounting. Default is 5 minutes per item.

Decision States

STRONG BUY Profit, ROI, and hourly rate all exceed targets.
BUY Meets profit and hourly targets.
BUY IF BATCHED Good cash profit but labor-heavy — process in groups to improve hourly rate.
CAUTION Positive but below minimum targets.
PASS Does not meet profit criteria.

📊 Seller Intelligence

Enter your store metrics and get a seller grade, annual projections, and a Fix This Week action plan.

Two Grades

Efficiency Grade
How good your unit economics are — profit per item, profit per hour, sell-through, ASP, return rate. This grades the quality of your business regardless of scale.
Goal Readiness Grade
How on-track you are toward your income goal. Only shows when a goal is set. A seller with great efficiency but low volume might be A / D — excellent per item, not yet at scale.

Goal Types

Choose what your income goal means: After-Tax Income, Pre-Tax Profit, Gross Profit, or Revenue. The app adjusts its projections and goal gap accordingly.

Tax Estimate

The rough tax estimate uses 15.3% self-employment tax and 22% federal income tax. These are estimates only — your actual tax will depend on filing status, deductions, state, and entity type. Consult a tax professional for your actual liability.

✏️ Title Optimizer

Paste your existing eBay titles and get AI-improved versions built from real market data.

How It Works

The app searches eBay for similar items, identifies which keywords appear in higher-priced listings, and rebuilds your title with those keywords added in the optimal order.

Title Score

Scored out of 100 based on: length (up to 80 chars), word count, presence of size, gender, color, material, and premium market keywords.

⚠️ Only use suggested keywords that are verifiable on the actual item. Do not add keywords that are not on the tag, label, or material.

Market Metric Definitions

Median Price
The middle price across all active listings — 50% are cheaper, 50% are more expensive. Immune to outliers. More reliable than average price for resellers.
Sell-Through Rate (STR)
Percentage of active listings that sell in a given period. Higher = faster-moving market. Formula: (Sales per day × 30) ÷ Active listings × 100.
Market Velocity
FAST = 40%+ of listings are under 30 days old. SLOW = 50%+ of listings are 90+ days old. MODERATE = in between.
Competition Bucket
RARE (1), VERY LOW (2–10), LOW (11–50), MEDIUM (51–200), HIGH (201–500), EXTREMELY HIGH (500+). Based on total active listings matching your search.
Price to Sell in 30 Days
Recommended list price calculated as 12% below the median — designed to undercut most competitors and sell within one 30-day listing cycle.

Buy Decision Definitions

Max Buy Price
The most you can pay and still meet all your profit criteria. Calculated from your sell price minus all fees, shipping, and your minimum profit target.
Multiplier Rule (e.g. 3x)
Sell price must be at least X times your buy price. If sell price is $90 and your rule is 3x, max buy is $30. Protects you from investing too much capital in a single item.
Min Listings for BUY
If fewer active listings exist than this threshold, the BUY verdict becomes CAUTION regardless of profit math. Protects against items with no demand data.
VERIFY MODEL
Shown when search quality is weak and higher-value keywords exist. The app is telling you: check the tag before passing. A different model could be worth significantly more.

Profit Metric Definitions

COGS
Cost of Goods Sold. What you paid to acquire the item. Your buy price.
Cash ROI
Cash Net Profit ÷ Buy Price. A 3x ROI means you made 3x your investment back in cash profit (before labor).
Promoted Listing Fee
The percentage of the sale price paid to the marketplace for promoted/boosted visibility. Default is 6% but varies by campaign.
Return Reserve
A percentage of the sale price set aside to cover expected returns. Default 1%. Higher for shoes, electronics, and fit-dependent clothing.
Damage Reserve
A percentage of COGS set aside for hidden flaws, bad buys, and unsellable items discovered after purchase. Default 1%.

Seller Metric Definitions

Monthly Sell-Through Rate
(Items sold per day × 30) ÷ Total active listings × 100. A healthy reseller store runs 10–20%. Below 7% means pricing, titles, or inventory quality needs attention.
Average Sale Price (ASP)
Average sale price across all items sold. Raising ASP is often more effective than increasing volume for improving total profit.
Net Inventory Change
New listings per day minus items sold per day. Positive = growing store. Zero = stable (replacing sold items). Negative = shrinking store.
Gross Annual Profit
Annual revenue minus all costs (COGS, fees, shipping, supplies, returns, VA) — before taxes. This is your business profit before paying yourself.
After-Tax Profit
Rough estimate only. Calculated as gross profit minus 15.3% self-employment tax and 22% federal income tax. Your actual tax depends on deductions, entity type, state, and filing status.
